Aurora, IL 150K (Chicago Randonneurs) / 150K (93 mi) @ your pace / Edward Richards
About this event
This is the third official event of the year for Chicago Randonneurs. But we start and finish in the western suburb of Aurora. You must be an RUSA Member (see below).
Two Brothers Roundhouse near the Aurora Metra Station is the actual starting and finishing point. Free parking is available at the Aurora Metra station (Free Parking on Saturday).
The route is named “Egyptian Farms 150K.” From Aurora the route follows a pleasant, low-traffic loop through northern Illinois farmland – calm roads allow steady pacing, an ideal setting to get into an extended rhythm.
The route proceeds from Aurora through Geneva, Sycamore, DeKalb, Hinckley, Plano, and Oswego – back to Aurora. Highlights along the way include a pass by the Egyptian Theatre in DeKalb – and you truly can’t miss the bright yellow Burger Naan next door, a favorite landmark whether you’re riding through or stopping to refuel.
After the ride return to the Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora (next to the Metra station) to celebrate your achievement sharing food, drinks, and good company as we close out the March Rouleur series together.
