    NORTH

    Scuppernong, McMiller, and Nordic are groomed. Scuppernong is for classical skiing only with a double classical track set around the entire trail. McMiller and Nordic are groomed for both classical and skate skiing. For the most up-to-date info, call the Trail Information Line (262) 594-6202 (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week).

    Use the Parking lot on Dundee just east of 14 to access the hills.

    From IL 53 and US 12 (Rand Road), go west on US 12 for 12.5 miles to IL 176 (Liberty Street). Turn left on IL 176 and take that for 3.5 miles to River Road. Turn right on River Road and the entrance will be 2 miles on your right. Once in the park, drive up the main road to the Kettle Woods Day Use Area.     Entrance off Spring Road one-half mile south of 31st Street. Take 294 to Ogden Avenue (Route 34) to York Road heading north, and turn left onto Spring Road. Fullersburg Woods Nature Education Center, 3609 Spring Road, Oak Brook, 60523, (630) 850-8110.

    From I-55, exit Cass south to Northgate Road. There is a picturesque waterfall in the Rocky Glen area. There is a second parking lot south on Cass where it turns into Bluff Road.

    The rolling terrain of the Swallow Cliff area offers excellent skiing with a warming shelter and heated rest rooms. This area is located near the intersection of Illinois Route 83 and U.S. Highway 45, just west of Palos Park.

    The Maple Lake area is located at 95th Street and Archer Avenue, approximately two (2) miles west of U.S. Highway 45. The hilly terrain, combined with the mature forests in the area, makes this trail especially suited to the intermediate and expert skiers.
