Panera and my morning schedule are both open... Let‘s do this! If you have commitments and want to fire off the front or skip the loop or break, I promise I won‘t be offended.
Join me for a road ride from Lombard to St. Charles. Note that our return route will be through downtown Wheaton rather than Jewel to Gary, as Gary is closed for construction. Our midpoint rest stop will be at Panera in St. Charles. I expect to maintain the upper end of the posted rolling speed, with optional sprints. I expect to do the Munger Loop (Powis->Stearns->Munger->Smith), so anticipate total mileage closer to 50 miles. Others are always free to bypass or shorten the loop.
We will face some hills, rollers, and open road with narrow shoulders, so a road bike and some road riding experience is highly recommended. Ample regroup opportunities. No one will be dropped.
Please don‘t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Come join us for a Hump Day Hustle ride in Naperville with not a lot of Hustle!! This is a "No Drop" "Social Ride". The ride will be a little different than the Hump Day Hustle leaving out of Villa Park since the main break will be at the end of the ride and the mileage is a little less.
We will leave from Pioneer Park, (where there is parking and restroom facilities), take the river path through Knoch Knoll, (restroom break if needed), to Whalen Lake and around, (again restroom break if needed), and then head back the way we came to Pioneer Park for some fellowship at the picnic tables at the end of the ride. Please feel free to bring the beverage or snack of your choice. I have taken this route on several occasions but will be making slight changes throughout the rest of the year to accommodate as many riders as possible. Also, the days are getting shorter so having lights over the next couple of weeks will become mandatory.

*** Check this section for specific updates on this week‘s ride. ***
Come join our highly-social, evening, trail ride that has been a Spring, Summer and Fall tradition since August, 2015, always rolling at the speed-of-fun. :-)
We ride as a team and enthusiastically encourage communication, conversation and laughter - as long as riders prescribe to safe practices such as: communicating about obstacles and maintaining gaps that are appropriate for the speed, terrain and weather conditions.
Your bike must have headlights and tail lights. Avoid using retina-burning, overly-bright and strobing lights since we ride trails as a pack and are usually separated from car and truck traffic. We try to courteously douse headlights when passing pedestrians and fellow riders as we ride into growing darkness.
History has shown that this ride can be done with most any kind of bike, but sometimes conditions can make it tough for narrower tires. You be the judge.
No rider will ever be left behind. We have several bona fide EBC Ride Leaders attending this ride for extra safety. ...But you must make sure that your bike is ready and you are in athletic condition for this distance and pace. Note that 10-12 mph on a trail may take the same effort as 13-16 mph on a road; ...and riding a heavy, fat or mountain bike requires yet additional effort.
Our routes vary from one week to the next. Look for route information on our e-mail list server each week before the ride. Let‘s rock!

When I saw and heard that Julie couldn‘t host this ride I was devastated....
In honor of Julie and to keep up the tradition, come join us for our annual triple B or cloverleaf century ride out of Madison Meadows. We will first do the early BUSSE route (plus a few miles as time allows) and then meet up with the BLUE Skies Ride and finish with the early BIRD route as needed to get to 100 miles.
Unfortunately, I am not as good a baker as Julie, so all snacks will be self-supported unless someone else wants to coordinate. After the ride we will go to BILLY BRICKS pizza in Lombard on St. Charles for those who have time.
Hoping to average 17+ but will depend on weather, etc. Feel free to join for 1, 2 or all 3 legs of this ride.
Please let me and/or Bob Wettermann know no later (but hopefully sooner) than the night before if you are planning to join. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Note the 5 am sharp start time to get out before it gets too hot!

Let‘s rock!

From the event website:
"Old Fashioned Gravel
We are fortunate enough to have some of the best gravel riding in the Midwest and have put together four routes to show off the local terrain. As with all of our rides, we offer a little bit of everything and welcome EVERYONE from novice riders to the most seasoned racers. The focus of the ride is to bring like-minded individuals together for a great ride, but we will have professional timing so if you want to race we will have you covered too! Routes that will satisfy all of your gravely desires, and a post-ride gathering with food, drink, and hangs with new friends.
We will introduce an awesome new venue in Hokah Minnesota, a rustic farm nestled in a scenic coulee. While the ride is about riding with other rad people like yourself, rest assured a portion of your entry fee will go to a local entity that could use a little financial help. If we can have a super fun time while helping others, that is what will make this a successful event. We will also be using local businesses to feed and hydrate us. Hokah is a super cool little town, and we would love to help keep our money local.
All routes will leave and finish at the farm. The gravel is approximately two miles from the start line, and one mile of that is a paved climb, once you are on the ridge, the dust shall start flying! All routes will descend this paved section upon return to the finish line."
